Application Server Enterprise Manager Password
Note: The
instructions here assume that you not only have a running BIC2G:EE Server, but
also have configured and tested your client as described in “Getting Started.”
Navigating to the URL http://oracle2go.us.oracle.com in your browser will take you to the BIC2G:EE Launch Page:

Before you start running the demos, let’s take a look at the controls for running the BIC2G:EE Server. Click on the “BIC2G Process Control” hyperlink and a new window will launch, defaulting to the Services tab:

Let’s walk through this multifunction screen. To remotely see what ‘Services” are running on the BIC2G:EE Image, the flags on the right side of the Process Control screen indicate the state:
· Green: Service is up
· Red: Service is down
· Yellow: Service is in transition
The “Start All” and “Stop All” buttons bring up/shut down all the services for for Oracle Business Intelligence (not including the database). For more granular control, use the check boxes next to the flags and the “Start” and “Stop” buttons. For example, if you pushed the “Stop All” button, you’d dismiss a warning dialog box, and start seeing log entries showing the activity on the server. At the same time, the flags next to the BI components would go from green to yellow to red. If you wanted to shut down the Database, select that checkbox and click ‘Stop’:

The result would be all red flags. If you push the “Start All” button at this point, the BIC2G:EE Process control is smart enough to start everything in the correct order, including the database:

When changing from one demonstration to another, a common task is to change the metadata files for the BI Server and Presentation Server. To see the BIC2G:EE automation of this task, click on the “BI EE” tab. For example, say you wanted to change to the Paint Demo, you’d need to change both the Web Catalog and Repository as shown below:

When you are finished using the image, you can either return to the BIC2G:EE Linux Console window and login as user ‘shutdown’ using password ‘shutdown’ OR you can simply click the “Shutdown VMWare” in the upper right of the Process Control Screen:

If you click “Shutdown VMWare”, you’ll get a confirming dialog box. Click OK.

If you look at the Linux Console Window, you’ll see the BIC2G:EE gracefully shutting down:

To launch the OBI:EE Dashboard (using the currently configured Repository & Web Catalog metadata), you can either:
1. Navigate to: http://oracle2go.us.oracle.com:9704/analytics (worth bookmarking) or
2. Simply click on the “Oracle Analytics” link on the BIC2G:EE Launch Page:

To provide you with complete access to every part of this image, here are the username / passwords for the:
· Linux OS
· Application Server Enterprise Manager (normally not started)
· APEX
· Database
Since this varies with the demonstration being used, please refer to the demonstration scripts for the covered products.
Once you feel comfortable running the BIC2G:EE, please continue to “Demonstrations and Scripts” or see the educational material available in the “North America Partner Training” section.
